A few steps from URSO Hotel & Spa, we recommend you to visit the Museum of Romanticism. This former house transformed into a museum hosts a collection that stands out for its richness and heterogeneity, with more than 16.000 pieces, among painting, drawing, sculpture, furniture, photography or decorative arts, typical of this artistic period.
Furthermore, the exhibition has a historical archive with more than 4.000 documentary collections, allowing visitors to know aspects of the society during the Romantic period that in Spain took place between 1833 and 1868.
Enjoy this exclusive collection with donations that belonged to the Museum’s founder –Benigno de la Vega Inclán-, the Prado Museum and the Marqués of Cerralbo, among other important donations that nowadays complete the vision of the Romanticism.
The icing on the cake of this visit is in the literature and theatre room with the activity A work, an opera, in collaboration with the Royal Theater. Here you will find an illustrated edition of 1857 of The Lady of the Camellias, a novel by Alexander Dumas, whose story inspired Verdi’s opera La Traviata.
